Opportunities need the right people with the right resources to be realized. This cannot be understated. Too many companies do not properly prepare their people for success. They typically under-train and under-support the very people they expect to deliver results. The logic does not add up. The end result includes disengaged people doing things well below their potential. It is not sustainable.
I believe the focus of management needs to be on removal of obstacles. It could be normal for companies to provide their people with the resources needed to be successful. If the right tools are given to the right people, great things can happen.
Equip them, then get out of their way!
